A great local brewery conveniently located in downtown Nanaimo. Lots of space. Many great local brews to taste and always some rotating taps. Fill a growler, stay for a pint or a flight, and grab some great nibbles. Recently also started offering foods prepared locally by Coco’s Cafe. Had their tandoori chicken fingers. Super tasty and good sized portions.
We heard about White Sails from research prior to our visit and from a local waitress the night before. White Sails did not disappoint. Love the ambience and the beer! We purchased some beer to take back to Vancouver, and were craving it so much we returned for one last tasting and purchase two days later before the ferry ride! The Bastion Blond Ale is my fave (a close second Is the collaboration with Regard coffee). Wish you were in Vancouver!
Visited with a friend. Beers were ok. We ordered nachos. HUGE mistake. Basically a pile of corn chips, sour cream on the side, hard pressed to find the cheese and it was all buried under the salsa which was poured over the chips. We were dumbfounded. Who doesn’t know how to make nachos. Hard to understand why the salsa was poured over the chips. Forget the nachos , order a pizza from Mambos.
