The Port Theatre in Nanaimo BC

Being new to town we had to check out this theater. We were able pick up pretty good seats last minute to Colin James second show. The sound , seating and staff were all great along with cheap drinks made for nice evening. My only complaint is I have been looking for a reason to return but the theater seems to be under used other then the tribute shows which I am not into watching. It would be a good venue for new up and coming or blues acts.

The theatre is easy to reach with parking close by. We saw Colin James and he put on a brilliant show to a packed house (800+ people).
We were higher up in the theatre and the sound was loud but not too much. Drinks and snacks were available during the intermission but you couldn’t take anything into the theatre, only water. People were up dancing to the music and nobody tried to stop them, very relaxed atmosphere.

It IS a special place, and we have always been delighted. There is easy parking beneath the theatre, and egress from the garage is simple, taking you straightforward to the theatre. Whether it was a special show or the symphony, we’ve enjoyed our experiences in the Port Theatre and always look forward to more.
